Arvind Kejriwal Moves Supreme Court Seeking Extension Of Interim Bail In Delhi Liquor Policy Case

Delhi के Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal ने 10 May को Delhi Liquor Policy Case में उन्हें दी गई Interim bail की Period बढ़ाने की मांग करते हुए Supreme Court का रुख किया।

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) प्रमुख को Lok Sabha Election के दौरान Publicity के लिए interim measures के रूप में Judicial Custody से Release किया गया था। अपनी नयी Plea में उन्होंने कहा कि उन्हें PET-CT Scan सहित Clinical Trials/Investigations से गुजरना होगा। उन्होंने Supreme Court से interim bail को 7 Days की Period के लिए बढ़ाने की मांग की।

उल्लेखनीय है कि Kejriwal को ED ने 21 March को उनके आवास से Arrest किया था, जब Delhi High Court ने उन्हें दिन में Interim Bail देने से Denied कर दिया था। तब से वह 10 May तक Custody में रहे। 10 May को Supreme Court ने उन्हें कुछ शर्तों के अधीन 1 June तक Interim Bail का लाभ दिया।

Justice Sanjiv Khanna और Justice Dipankar Dutta की Division Bench ने Kejriwal की Interim Bail का निर्देश देते हुए कहा था कि वह Elected Chief Minister के Case से निपट रही है, जो समाज के लिए खतरा नहीं है।

आगे यह नोट किया गया कि ED की जांच लगभग 1.5 साल तक Pending रही (Elections की Notification के तुरंत बाद Kejriwal की अंतिम Arrestment से पहले)। इसलिए उदार दृष्टिकोण उचित था। साथ ही General Election चल रहे है, जो 5 साल में एक बार होते हैं।
